SIZE OF SERVICE DEPARTMENT
Grand Island, NE – Rich & Sons RV Headquarters, located in Grand Island, NE has just announced plans to double the size of their service department in early 2018. Currently, their service department, located across Highway 281 at 4395 Gold Core Road, has 10 service bays. The new construction will add an additional 10 bays.
“We have grown so much in the last few years that we have outgrown our current facilities,” said Tony Staab, co-owner of Rich & Sons. “We built a 10 bay service facility on Gold Core Road in 2014 in order to house our PDI department. In 2017 we moved all of our customer pay service to this building as well. With the increase in demand for service, we made the decision to double the current building size for 2018.”
“Our current service trade area is at least a 200 mile radius around Grand Island,” added Nick Staab, Tony’s brother and co-owner of Rich & Sons. “The biggest concern we have is customer wait time. No one wants to wait 3-4 weeks to get your camper repaired right in the middle of camping season. With 20 dedicated service bays, we are looking at a 7-10 day turn around time for most major repairs.”
Rich & Sons will also be moving its Parts Department to the facility at Gold Core Road, making that facility a combined Parts & Service Facility. They will still be able to stock over 10,000 parts and get special orders in within 24-48 hours. The original building and surrounding property at 5112 S. Antelope Drive will be dedicated to New & Used RV Sales. Currently the inventory is spread out amongst 3 different areas; with this move almost all of the 250+ Travel Trailers, Fifth Wheels, Toy Haulers and Class C Motorhomes will be in one location to make it easier to shop.
“While separating our departments wasn’t an easy decision, we felt it was necessary to be able to maintain the customer service people have come to know and expect from us,” said Tony.
“Our new Parts & Service Facility is literally only 1 mile away from our original building so we will still be really connected,” said Nick. “This expansion will make it so much more convenient for our customers.”
Construction has already started and while the completed project is not expected until spring of 2018, the Parts Department will complete its move to the Gold Core Road facility by January 1st.
